Recognition
Chris served as president of the Michigan Communications Directors Association in 2020 and as the association's treasurer from 2024 through October 2025. He was named Michigan APCO Director of the Year in 2021 for his work at Bay County 911. In 2022 he was a national APCO International Emergency Communications Center nominee. These honors reflect peer recognition from working 911 directors and dispatch professionals across the state and nationally.
Civic service
Chris is a board member of Save Our Shoreline, a Bay City riparian rights advocacy organization led by president Ernie Krygier. Save Our Shoreline focuses on lakeshore property rights, navigable water access, and Great Lakes legal and policy questions specific to Saginaw Bay and the Michigan shoreline.
